How to Achieve Anything You Want

I like this concept of build in public. I like the rawness of it. And the vulnerability that comes with it.

What I’m going to be doing here is writing a book one blog post at a time. It’s going to focus on the idea of consistent wins, and I mean that two fold.

  1. By being consistent with something, you’ll get consistent wins over and over again.
  2. It also means that being consistent means you will win.

I’ll be using #consistentwins on Twitter for all my posts and I hope you’ll follow along and contribute.

The title for the book is to be determined but I’ve got something really great in mind that I’ll reveal later if it sticks.

What I’ll explore

Throughout the process of writing I’ll be exploring the topic of consistency through various lenses.

These lenses are but are not limited to:

  • Committing
  • Being intentional
  • Tracking and setting goals
  • Using a system or process
  • Creating habits you want
  • Staying focused

I’m also going to explore why myself and so many others, maybe you, will say we are going to start something and then jump ship when things either get difficult or start looking like it might work.

My initial thought is that we somehow thrive on the chaos that is our life whether it’s lack of structure or financial resources or something else. There could be a plethora of things that cause us to self-sabotage our successes.

My hope is that as I start to release these thoughts, you will share what you think and know about the subject and your wisdom and experience can become a teacher for others following.

Here’s the honest truth about me. I’ve been doing this whole entrepreneur thing a very long time. I really started on my own when I was 12 (in 1997) and while I’ve had a few jobs here and there I’ve been predominantly a freelancer for nearly 14 years at this writing.

But the fact is that while I’ve had some success here and there and things have always worked out for us decently well, I’ve never achieved the level of success I desire. That means I’ve never really helped as many people as I truly believe I can and should.

During this journey I’m going to dig into that more but I hope you will find my story something you can relate to and learn from what I’m doing now to make the business and life I’ve always wanted.

What I will give you

In short, im going to give you a roadmap to how to be more consistent in your life so you can win.

And that’s going to be some version of the subtitle for this book; how to be consistent so you can win at life and business.

The fact is that I have studied business for a very long time. I have seen people in the very early stages of their journey who are major successes now. People like Brian Clark who started Copyblogger and Seth Godin who I have followed since the early 2000s.

Now some 20 years later, they have added to our world in ways I’ve only dreamed of but it’s only been because they did the work and stayed the course.

Now, that process is going to be laid out in a way I truly don’t think anyone has ever done. If they have, I’ve never seen it.

So that’s my goal for this project. Come up with a roadmap for you to follow that will take you from struggling freelancer to put you on the path to consistent wins in whatever field you desire.

Because at the end of the day, we need your work. We need your view and your experience and your passion. The world is waiting on you and no one can say it like you.

Let’s go build something that matters.
